Beef

We offer a simple and effective set of beef programs to build champion show beef as well as butcher animals. This sections covers the feed we produce right here at our mill. We recommend these feeds after completing the calf line of feeds covered on our Calf page. Be sure to provide adequate amounts of fresh, clean, cool water at all times. Animals at different stages should be penned or pastured separately as they will have different needs and larger animals may take more feed than is necessary away from small ones.

For the alternate Precision Dairy Beef Program, see our Blue Seal/Kent Nutrition page.

 14% Beef Grower

To be fed once the animal reaches between 400 and 500 pounds, we recommend feeding at a rate of 4 to 8 pounds per head per day. Designed to increase the rate of gain for growing cattle on pasture or dry lot, it can be fed along with quality hay, silage, or grazing. As it is a ground feed, if you have been using our textured calf feeds previously, we recommend a transitional approach to switch to this feed. Start with 75% of the textured feed and 25% ground feed, then 50/50, then 75% ground feed and 25% textured, each step for several days before going entirely to the ground feed.
